Golden Dove Award given to Cecile Guidote Alvarez’s show 8:46 AM | Saturday, June 20th, 2015

The Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters ng Pilipinas (KBP) Golden Dove Award for Best Culture and Arts program was given to DZRH “Radyo Balintataw” produced and hosted by Ramon Magsaysay Asian Awardee Cecile Guidote-Alvarez, Director of the Earthsavers Unesco Artist for Peace and President of the Philippine Center of the International Theatre Institute (ITI).










She received a trophy for its featured presentation of Severino Reyes zarzuela “Walang Sugat” with PUP students directed by Gigi Velarde David, the granddaughter of the composer Fulgencio Tolentino.

The 23 year old award-winning “Radyo Balintataw” aired on Sundays with culture based interviews on burning issues and at 6pm with drama, music, and poetry-Mondays to Fridays at 11:30pm also garnered the first Gantimpala most gender inter-agency organizing committee led by the Commission on Women and the Presidential Communications office.

“Radyo Balintataw” was congratulated by Unesco Director-General, Dr. Irina Bokova who hailed Balintataw as “giving voice to the marginalized and treated vital issues through a gender sensitive lens, from coping with climate change to encouraging creativity and artistic expression to combat stereotypes, foster tolerance and understanding, and show the potential that lies in every human being to change the world for the better.”
